Though it may seem like a trip back in time, scenes such as these still exist in Patagonia. A Chilean gaucho selects your horse for you and prepares it for the day's journey.
The landscape in Patagonia begins as bare rock and gravel, and as it heals, life emerges, first with mosses, weeds and thickets, eventually growing into dense forest.
The size of these burgs is misleading, what you see on the surface is only one seventh of it's total size. The rest is immersed in water.
